A Monday September 23 deadline has been set for expressions of interest from representatives of sectors including digital, tourism, heavy industry and micro business.

Expressions of interest are also being invited from specialists in transport, retail, food and drink, energy, manufacturing, skills, young people and local development.

When needed, the specialist advisors will advise Swansea Bay City Deal leaders, including a decision-making Joint Committee and an Economic Strategy Board led by the private sector.

Cllr Rob Stewart, Chairman of the City Deal’s Joint Committee, said: “We’re making considerable progress in implementing the recommendations of recent reviews into the City Deal, which will help accelerate its delivery throughout the Swansea Bay City Region.

“The assistance of specialist advisors in key City Deal themes and sectors we’re looking to further boost in South West Wales will complement the fantastic work our Economic Strategic Board is already doing.

“The City Deal is worth £1.8 billion to our regional economy in coming years, but the specialist advisors we’re looking for can add more value to this investment while helping identify others areas where can invest to create jobs and further turbo-charge the regional economy.

“This is a terrific chance to be involved in an investment programme that will leave a long-term legacy for regional residents and businesses, so I’d encourage anyone with expertise in the sectors we’ve identified to send in an expression of interest form as soon as possible.”

Expression of interest forms are available to download in the news section of the Swansea Bay City Deal website.

Completed forms should then be sent to citydeal@carmarthenshire.gov.wales
